This is an interactive training coursewhich covers the hazards of chemicals in the work place, including information on hazard classes and exposure limits.
Information is also given on the content and location of Yale's Chemical Hygiene Plan and OSHA's Laboratory Standard. The location of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and information on other sources of information on chemical hazards is discussed. Signs and symptoms of chemical exposure; methods and observations to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical; and measures to protect against these hazards, including appropriate work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment are all covered in this class. Training on personal protective equipment selection and use is also given during this course. This course meets the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard.
