Crane Safety

Cranes, hoists and slings pose a serious safety hazard if not used properly. The intent is to ensure all users and owners of this equipment are trained in the safe operation and the hazards of using cranes, hoists and slings. All equipment, as such, must be safely maintained. Rigging is the equipment used in the preparation to move loads by cranes or hoists. It allows workers to control large, heavy and bulky parts, as well as components with ease and efficiency. Proper rigging techniques are critical to safely relocate loads. Operators must understand the proper inspection of both cranes and hoists and rigging.

Based on usage further training of rigging might be required.
