Provost’s Charge to the Shop Safety Committee (February, 2014)
The shop safety committee promotes the mission of the university by overseeing the safety of the Yale community using shops for both curricular and non-curricular purposes on campus. More specifically, the committee will advise the president, the provost, and the director of Environmental Health and Safety on policy matters relating to the safe use of shops and tools on campus; review and, where necessary, revise existing shop safety policies and practices; ensure consistent application of shop room and tool safeguarding standards; provide guidance in regard to exception requests; and advise on opportunities for improvement.
