The Yale School of Medicine has a state-of-the-art Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Research Center dedicated to providing the highest quality nuclear imaging research. Located in close proximity to other School of Medicine departments, this impressive 22,000 square-foot facility was established to advance Yale molecular imaging research. The EHS/Radiation Safety team supports PET Center operations in a multitude of ways including advising PET researchers on study protocols, coordinating procurement and receipt of sealed sources, general surveillance of radiation safety activities, providing dosimetry to monitor personnel exposures, monitoring of environmental releases and the provision of PET Center specific radiation safety training. June Tamkin-Price, Medical Health Physicist for the PET Center, oversees the radiation safety program at PET and can be contacted at june.tamkin-price@yale.edu.
