Radiation Safety Officer
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), the Radiation Safety Officer has broad responsibilities for Yale’s safety and compliance programs for radiation and lasers. This position directly supervises three employees of the Yale EHS Radiation Safety Section, plus twenty other EHS indirect and dual reports who perform inspections, deliver radioactive shipments, and manage radioactive waste. The radiation safety program oversees core radiation safety, x-ray safety and laser safety programs, three Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licenses, four State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) registrations, and other compliance programs.

Software Engineer
Full stack developer working on a modular information system as part of a small development team for the Office of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). Design, implement, document, test, maintain, and support the large modular information system, EHS Integrator, and other information systems, primarily using C#, SQL Server, and multiple UI technologies, running in Azure.

Clinical Safety Advisor
Reporting to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Safety Advisor Program Co-Managers, the Clinical Safety Advisor supports and facilitates the safety programs at Yale’s outpatient clinics (e.g., Yale Health and Yale Medicine), locations where faculty, staff and students provide healthcare services, and other related clinical areas. At Yale, Safety Advisors are EHS’ primary liaison and point-of-contact with campus departments, including research, clinical, academic, athletic, and support services areas, and is responsible for providing comprehensive health and safety services and assisting in the University’s goal of a safe and healthy workplace and academic environment.
Please note that the selected candidate will be expected to work with hazardous waste management, RCRA, DOT and IATA regulations. They will be trained on this if appropriate.
