The chemical safety program is responsible for the control of health hazards related to chemical and physical agents within Yale University. Programs have been established to annually inspect all laboratory and non-laboratory areas, assess exposures to chemical and physical agents, provide for the safe use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment. Additional programs have been developed to assist investigators in the handling, storage and disposal of highly hazardous chemicals, investigate indoor air quality and odor complaints, as well as comply with an assortment of OSHA standards.
