Laser use on campus is overseen by the Laser Safety Committee, a subgroup of the Radiation Safety Committee. This group of scientists, physicians and other experts are appointed by the Yale University Provost and tasked with establishing Yale policies and procedures governing the use of all types of lasers at Yale. Environmental Health and Safety’s Laser Safety Officer, can assist you in establishing a laser safety program for your laboratory, evaluate your current program to ensure compliance with Yale policies and answer questions you may have regarding the use of lasers.
