To Start a Laser Registration
- Complete and submit a Lasers/Laser Systems Use Permit Application
- Schedule a laser evaluation with the Laser Safety Officer
- Ensure the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is in place
To Become a Trained Laser User
All laser users are required to complete Yale’s laser safety training regardless of previous training at other institutions.
- Complete Laser Safety Program (PRG-SRPR-EHS-020) trainings.
To Add a Laser to an Existing Registration
If you are already approved and wish to register a new laser, you must:
- Complete and submit a Lasers/Laser Systems Use Permit Application
- Schedule a laser evaluation for the new unit with the Laser Safety Officer
- Ensure that the personal protective equipment (PPE) already in place is appropriate for the new laser
