All routine purchases of lasers regardless of class must be purchased through Yale’s Purchasing Department, which notifies Environmental Health and Safety’s Laser Safety Program that a researcher intends to purchase a laser as well as provides laser specific information. If the laser to be purchased is of relatively high power or has some unusual characteristics, you are likely to receive a call from the Laser Safety Officer to discuss the intended location and use of the laser. For information on disposal, transfer or donation of laser equipment, contact lasersafety@yale.edu.
