DOT Regulated Biomedical Waste - edited from SRPR-EHS-003

Any Yale staff or student who package biomedical waste into a Stericycle box (vendor) for shipment off-site for disposal is required under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to be trained on how to identify, package and offer for shipment. DOT requirements also require that this training be completed once every three years.

Learning Objectives: To meet the DOT requirements of 40 CFR for shipping of biomedical waste

Audience: Any Yale staff or student that package biomedical waste Stericycle (vendor) boxes for shipment and disposal off-site. Please note: The following course is intended for non-Yale University employees (i.e., MPM – Medical Practice Management). Any Yale University affiliate with an active CAS username and password, should sign-into Workday Learning to receive credit for completing any required training courses and programs.

Preparation: Any Yale staff or student that package biomedical waste Stericycle (vendor) boxes for shipment and disposal off-site.
