Chemical Safety Registrations

  • Yale EHS chemical registrations are also designed to help PIs detail key risk information. All new PIs must contact Yale EHS before or upon arrival to Yale to activate their access to the Principal Profile registration.
  • The Principal Profile in EHS Integrator, once completed, will trigger the required regulatory registrations.
  • Chemicals Requiring EHS Pre-Approval (restricted chemicals): This list of chemicals requires approval from EHS prior to purchase.
  • EHS Integrator Chemical Registration Forms: Restricted chemicals should only be used If there are no safer alternatives. Yale labs that purchase, store, and use chemicals which are explosive, pyrophoric/water reactive, and acutely toxic must submit a registration, which is reviewed by EHS. Chemical registrations include the identification of hazards and risk assessments as well as procedures for use and storage, decontamination, waste management, and emergency responses. Approved registrations may be used as Standard Operating Procedures to train and authorize researchers.
  • Registration Applications for Controlled Substances: All controlled substances must be registered and licensed by the State of CT and the federal DEA.
